The price
How pricing works
We do not price a tree from a photo. Here is what the number depends on, in the order people ask.
What decides the price
Mostly how much crew time and gear the tree takes.
Size and species, and how close it stands to a house, fence or line
Where the truck can park and whether a bucket truck can reach
Whether pieces can fall or must be roped down in sections
How much wood and brush goes, and whether the stump comes out
What the estimate includes, and what it doesn't
A written scope you can read line by line.
Included: the work named, the cleanup you agree to, and who is on site
Not included: city permits, unless the estimate lists them
Not included: repairs to a roof, fence or line the tree damaged
What happens at the estimate visit
For planned work, our arborist or a crew lead walks the tree with you, looks at what it stands on and over, photographs it and writes down what you want.
Storm calls and after hours
A storm call is quoted on the phone first, before a crew rolls. After-hours work costs more than scheduled work, because a crew is called out, and the estimate shows that as its own line.
How payment works
You approve the estimate in writing before work starts. It says when payment is due and which methods we take, and for a larger job it sets a deposit schedule.
When you get the number
For planned work, in writing after the visit. For a storm call, on the phone, then in writing before the crew starts. If the job changes, the estimate changes with it, and we say so before we go on.
